Like many other websites, this website uses cookies. Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Personal data collection

We obtain information about you when you contact us via email, telephone or when you use our website. Our website contact form collects your name, email address, telephone number and the message you send to us.

You might also share a report with us from another health professional which includes your personal details. We collect and keep therapy assessments, continuation therapy notes and reports.  These will be identified with your name and date of birth.

This data is used to process your enquiry, formulate a plan, prepare and deliver therapy and to send invoices and receipts.  It is used to communicate with you via post, telephone and email in relation to your Speech and Language Therapy.

Under the Data Protection Act 2018 and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we require your consent to collect this data and this is agreed when submitting our contact form or via the Terms and Conditions contract at the start of therapy if you use our services.

The Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) outline professional standards for performance, conduct and ethics. Integral to this are accurate and contemporaneous record keeping. Records must stored securely to protect from loss, damage or inappropriate access.

MyVoiceRehab stores data securely in compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and GDPR. Digital files containing personal information will be stored on encrypted storage media and/or password protected cloud-based storage with Microsoft Office 365. Paperwork containing personal information will be kept in a locked filing cabinet.

The Record Management Code of Practice states that most health and care records are destroyed eight years after your last treatment.

Who we share your data with

Under HCPC standards and the Data Protection Act 2018, all personal information must be treated as confidential and will not be shared without permission or where the law allows this.

Any information provided will be kept confidential and we will not share your information with anyone apart from third parties involved in providing our services to you (such as Microsoft 365), who are also bound to protect your information. Your data will not be shared with any third party directing marketing companies.
